Derivation of rate equations for multisite ping-pong mechanisms with ping-pong reactions at one or more sites.

چکیده
It has become clear as the result of the pioneering studies of Northrop on transcarboxylase (l), and the later studies in Lardy’s (2) and Utter’s (3) laboratories on pyruvate carboxylase that biotin-containing enzymes have two-site ping-pong mechanisms in which biotin is carboxylated at one site, and in turn carboxylates a substrate at the second site. The rate equations for such mechanisms have been derived by assuming that the reaction at each site between biotin or carboxybiotin and the other reactants was random sequential. Thus, the conversion of biotin to carboxybiotin at a site was considered proportional to the fractional occupancy of that site by the correct substrates, and to the proportion of the enzyme existing in the form with free biotin at that site. Since the fractional occupancy is given by a simple expression such as:

Citronellyl Butyrate Synthesis in Non-Conventional Media Using Packed-Bed Immobilized Candida Rugosa Lipase Reactor
The synthesis of citronellyl butyrate by direct esterification reaction catalyzed by immobilized lipase from Candida rugosa was studied in a continuous packed bed reactor using n-hexane as organic solvent. Parameters such as residence time, temperature, and pH were examined. The optimum conversion was obtained at a flow rate of 1 ml/min (residence time 8 min), temperature of 50 °C, and pH 7.5. ...

In this study, decolorization of the diazo dye, Reactive Black 5 (RB5) in a Coprinus cinereus peroxidase-catalyzed reaction has been investigated. A bisubstate kinetic model for the reaction rate based on the Ping-Pong mechanism was assumed for the enzymatic decolorization. Experiment...
متن کاملReducing Ping-Pong Handover Effect in LTE Mobile Networks Using TRIAS
Improving system performance in terms of data rate, mobility and cost is the scope of Long Term Evolution (LTE) system. In LTE networks the handover (HO) decision is performed by the evolved base station (eNB). The ping-pong movement in LTE is one of the most crucial problems which reduce the quality of the connection and degrade the performance of the handover. In this paper, the impact of pin...
متن کاملCalculation of steady-state rate equations and the fluxes between substrates and products in enzyme reactions.
1. Two methods are described for deriving the steady-state velocity of an enzyme reaction from a consideration of fluxes between enzyme intermediates. The equivalent-reaction technique, in which enzyme intermediates are systematically eliminated and replaced by equivalent reactions, appears the most generally useful. The methods are applicable to all enzyme mechanisms, including three-substrate...
متن کاملEavesdropping on the "ping-pong" quantum communication protocol.
Security of the "ping-pong" quantum communication protocol recently proposed by Boström and Felbinger [Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 187902 (2002)]] is analyzed in the case of considerable quantum channel losses. The eavesdropping scheme is presented, which reveals that the ping-pong protocol is not secure for transmission efficiencies lower than 60%. Our scheme induces 50% losses, which, however, can b...
